E Book Design - Great Design Inside and Out

So will your E book cover get judged in the same way? For sure! This is why you really need to focus on the visual design aspect of your E book, because most people will not give it a second glance if it just doesn't look professional or the part.
Here are a few things your E book Design must have both inside and out:
Inside: Uniqueness. Be as unique as possible
Most of the time there will already be loads of E books based on similar subjects to your own. Unfortunately there is not much you can do to get away from that. But what you can do is to try stepping up a few levels above the competition, be as innovative an possible and even try stepping outside of the box. Be as unique as possible, and it will allow you to stay one step ahead.
Outside: Great Images
Images on E book covers will help convey to your audience what your E book is about. Another saying "a picture is worth a thousand words". Yes it's completely true. A great image on your E book cover will undoubtedly get your readers imagination going about what lies beyond the cover. It's a great opportunity to draw people in. Choosing related imagery is a must, but remember not to go too Andy Warhol on your design. There is nothing stopping you from creating distinctive design, in fact it can help distinguish your E book from the rest.
Inside and Out: A nice simple font
Your E book cover wording needs to be legible at a glance, so using some crazy Gothic or graffiti font may not be the best way to go. You can go a little wilder than say the "Ariel" font, but just keep in mind the age group and social background of your target audience. Keep the internal page font as basic as you can. Just remember you don't want to give your readers a headache by trying to read your E book. This also reflects on the size of the font, however, as it's an E book, your readers will be able to zoom in or out via their reader software.
Outside: Eye friendly Colors
The colors you choose can mean the difference between attraction and distraction. Be sure to choose your colors wisely. Vibrant colors need to be applied correctly, so use with caution. The best advice is to experiment with different colors; print them all off, and then do a quick survey with your friend to see which one they like best.
Outside: And last but not least give your E book a great title
Having a great E book title is probably the most important factor of your E book cover. Keep it as short as you can without detracting from the contents within. Your title should grab your reader's attention in an instant, enough to stop them in their tracks. Your E book cover will more than likely be the first thing your potential buyers will set their eyes on. So the title and imagery needs to make them want to know what lies within.
Your cover really is the hook and the bait, then if people go on and purchase, you'll know you've made the catch.
